A common "me" moment...

A person who can or does escape from their rope bondage (or any bondage really) is sometimes called a Houdini. Why am I sharing this? Because it seems that in some circles I've developed a bit of a reputation. They consider me a Houdini. In actuality, I'd much rather stay in the rope than escape. I do have a friend though, Matthew, who is practicing his Rope Top skills. He ties me up and I see if I can escape. This shows him where his weaknesses are...and gives me a new challenge.

This weekend I was part of the bondage demo for the "newbie" night at the kink club. While there were several other demos, with other kinks, going on rope bondage always draws a crowd. While I was being tied, Matthew was busy sharing tales of my escape prowess with the crowd. This wouldn't have been bad except that I pulled a perfectly "Mandy" moment. After staying, somewhat quietly, in the hogtie position for a while I started fidgeting with the ropes. Oops...the connecting knots had been left where I could reach them! I couldn't be expected to resist that tempation. Soon I was almost completely out. I only had my ankles and elbows/upper arms (I'm not that flexible backwards and need extra rope *grin*) left. I was going at a pretty quick pace when I decided to pull on the loose line. Wrong idea. Instead of freeing myself in one quick yank, I'd managed to tighten the ropes around my arm. Dumb. Luckily, there were plenty of people around to catch my mistake and I was saved in short order. My arm was/is just fine, and I'm still a bit embarrassed, but I'm thinking of blaming it all on my friend. He is the one that was talking me up and thereby triggered the Mandyland Laws of Not-So-Gracefulness. It can't possibly be that I wasn't paying complete attention to what I was doing...nope...not at all.
