When inspiration strikes

For the first time in a long time, I'm basking in the afterglow of a book. This isn't just a warm fuzzy after a good novel, but a deep in my heart, glowing, inspiration brought on by words. Girl Meets God is the author's personal journey into faith and religion. At a young age she converted to become Hebrew, later she made her way to Christ. It isn't so much that she told a conversion story, but that her journey was filled with twists and turns and questions. Emotions were presented and accepted for what they are, in her memoir. This appeals to me. I've run into several "conversion" stories that are only willing to admit to full fledged love for their current religion/God/dess of their choice; no backwards glances or moments of weakness concerning previous religions. My spiritual journey is so far from that it isn't even funny.

Well, actually hopefully it is funny or at least moving. After putting this book down I'm bubbling over with emotions and creative energy. I'm writing my journey. I don't know what will come of this, but it feels right. The words may not be perfect and I may never let anyone else read it (conversely I might force it on anyone interested) but I'll I can do is honor this feeling and give it a try.

....too bad I'm about two weeks too late to join NaNoWriMo, but how was I supposed to know inspiration would strike this month?

Given my particular field of study (religious conversion processes), I'd love to read it...

If it becomes more than anything but a pile of sticky notes and an outline (what I have now) I'd gladly share it with you.
