Things to know...

...when baking dessert for T-day, be aware that the lil directions on the pie box are necessary. No, really. Especially the one that says, "Keep frozen until ready to bake." Apparently, just being kept in the fridge isn't enough.

I opened the box and slid out the pie tin and crust...then realized that I needed to pour the pumpkin pie filling out of the box. That's just wrong. Strangely, the box didn't leak any of the filling. Even more wrong.

Everything turned out fine...and edible (which really was a big worry this morning).

my pumpkin pies are getting ready to go in the oven as soon as the shortbread is done and the only thing that came out of a box was the food processor - even did fresh pumpkin, no can ... yay for impressing the in-laws
