An angry, opinionated, tattooed man

A few years ago I was infatuated with Henry Rollins. My formative years were spent pushing my rockstar to the back of the closet...pretending that I didn't covet someone else's music collection...that the only stars I had a crush on were popstars. A few years ago my infatuation flared when I witnessed one of Henry's rants live. Thank you, UW.

A few years later I was given the chance again. This time I unabashedly shared my joy with the flock. I may have even pressured a few into going with me. There might have even been a blog post about him...I'm just too lazy to go find it. Yet again...Thank you, UW.

I still have a thing for Henry. Maybe it is the tattoos? Maybe it is the seeming non-concern for other people's opinions of his rants? Maybe it is the fact he is able to carry and apply an amazing amount of knowledge, free will, and independent thinking in a world where following the masses is encouraged...even praised.

Imagine my surprise when I flipped to IFC and saw Mr. Rollins sharing his views on technology in our youth culture. I sat transfixed. I about fell off the sofa, laughing, at his letter to Pat Robinson. I highly suggest you check it out too....if for no other reason than to discover the source of my infatuation with angry, opinionated, and tattooed men.

And while you're at it...perhaps you can unravel the mystery behind this rather long post that is just meant to tell you to watch a t.v. program?

"back in my day, we didn't have blackberrys or pdas. We threw broken glass at each other and we liked it." --Henry's latest rant.

not a fan, but somewhat fascinated.

Clay....check out the show site. In the downloads section is "Teeing Off"..the rants that start the show each time. They are rather interesting!

I did, that's where I heard the angry old man rant I parodied

aaaahhh gotcha..parody. I was thrown by the quotation marks. They tend to mean that the information contained within hasn't been changed and is directly from the source.

Just a minor detail that you need while teaching English, Clay. ;)

Me too, Linus. I've got the concept and an artist now....but my bank account isn't agreeing with me.

But. BUT... I was using his voice when I typed it. English has its gray areas. Room for... literary license if you will.
